Padre Pio, Cappuchin sPriest:
Padre Pio suffered the wounds of the crucifixion (stigmata) for 50 years. See this site for more information on this holy man who was given the gifts of "reading" souls, bi-location, and even suspending time. This site is administered by the Dominican Father. The Confraternity is a world-wide movement of prayer for peace.

St. Thomas More:
Thomas More is undoubtedly my favorite of all the saints. He was a family man who was whole-heartedly devoted to Christ and the Church. Known for his intellect, quick wit, and fairness as a judge, More was imprisoned for refusing to go along with Henry VIII's plan to strong-arm Pope Clement VII into accepting his divorce of Catherine of Aragón. In the end, he opted to give his life rather than betray his faith in Christ.

The saints are the superheroes of our faith. Often they were plagued with personal faults, temptations and great crises of faith, yet they stand out. They stand out not because they were perfect, but because they were persistent in turning away from sin and towards Our Heavenly Father. The links on this page will help you to come to know these people of faith more intimately.
